Robert Aude

AIA, Principal

Bob provides significant design experience and executive leadership to Aude-Smith Architecture, Inc. AIA.

After graduation from Ohio State University, he obtained Florida registration in 1975 and served as Regional Design Director for a national architectural firm from 1975 to 1985. In 1987, he joined an established Tampa Bay firm as Partner and acquired majority ownership in 1994. Following his successful corporate practice over 18 years, Jeff Smith joined the firm in 2012 to form Aude-Smith Architecture, Inc. AIA.

Bob’s experience includes projects for the City of St. Petersburg, such as Mahaffey Theater, three City parks, churches for the Diocese of St. Petersburg, corporate office parks, and urban planning for major institutions. In a career spanning 40 years, he has led development of long-range projects throughout Florida and Tampa Bay.

Bob’s civic involvement includes service on the Clearwater Housing Authority and Municipal Code Enforcement Boards. As chair of Clearwater Housing, he served the community for 22 years. He enjoys family life, three grandchildren, and performs with a local jazz group around Tampa Bay.

Jeff Smith

Principal

In 1980, Jeff Smith began a career creating unique residential design for builders, developers, and growing families. Several years later, Jeff formed a residential design firm to continue personal service for his clients. Following successful years in practice, Jeff joined Robert Aude Associates, AIA, in 2012, a full service architectural firm established in 1994.

“I’m proud of the fact that our clientele always seems pleased with what we design,” Jeff says. “I think that comes from versatility– we’re not committed to a single style – we listen very carefully to clients. The fact that we serve numerous repeat clients over the years is a source of great professional fulfillment.”

Away from the office, Jeff serves with the Clearwater Housing Board, and he and his wife are avid travelers. “Napa Valley is probably our favorite destination,” he says. “We love wine and the atmosphere there, and there is obviously great architecture in California as well.
